Absolute pressure gauges

Production:
WIKA (Germany)

These devices are used to measure pressure independently of fluctuations in atmospheric pressure of the environment. In accordance with various applications and ranges of readings, pressure gauges for absolute pressure measurements are manufactured according to measurement principles and sensing element shapes that are used in pressure gauges for measuring relative pressures.

The pressure of the measured medium is determined with respect to the base pressure, which is equal to the absolute pressure with a value of 0 (= absolute vacuum). This means that a base pressure must be present on the side of the measuring element that is not in contact with the measured medium. The presence of the base pressure when using the appropriate shape of the springs is achieved by evacuating and sealing the corresponding measuring chamber or the enclosing body.

Transmission of the measuring element movement and pressure indication are performed similarly as described above relative pressure gauges
