When working with an open, non-contact RGH24 encoder , the unique RGS20-S tape size of 20 μm from Renishaw is used, with a resolution of up to 10 nm! RGH24 compact head is ideally suited for use in coordinate tables (Microstage systems), actuators and other cases with limited available space.
Characteristics and benefits of the RGH24 reading head

Scale tape RGS20-S in 20 μm steps
RGS20-S tape with a pitch of 20 microns is made of a thin flexible steel strip, which is coated with gold to provide high reflectivity and corrosion resistance. This tape can be fixed, using a self-adhesive base, on most materials used in the industry, including metals, ceramics and composite materials.
- The tape is supplied on a reel, it can cut off parts of the desired length, up to 70 m.
RGS20-S tape has temperature characteristics corresponding to the characteristics of the substrate on which the tape is attached, which simplifies the process of compensating for the effect of temperature.
- A special device is provided for fast and accurate installation of the scale tape (patented).
The lacquer coating of the tape is easy to clean and is resistant to external influences that occur when manipulating the tape.
You can always cut a piece of any necessary length that optimizes inventory management and minimizes waste.
- High accuracy of linearity tolerance of ± 3 μm / m provides high overall accuracy with simple adjustment procedure.
